The Rulebook

Last updated September 27, 2026

Short version: be quick, be funny, be decent. This is a game for practicing your texting, not a dating app.

01The game

You get paired with a stranger. You both get random aliases. Nobody sees names, photos, or profiles.

Each of you sends 8 texts, one per turn. You have 30 seconds on the shot clock for each reply.

02Airballs and buzzer beaters

Run out of time and it's an airball. The turn passes, and it still counts toward your 8.

3 airballs in a row ends the game. That counts as a 1 for you and nothing for them.

Reply in the last 3 seconds for a Buzzer Beater. It's just flair, no bonus points.

03Rating

When the final buzzer sounds, you have 60 seconds to rate their game from 1 to 10 and add up to two tags. Nobody sees who gave what.

Your shot score is the average of your last 20 games, minus half a point per airball, never below 1.

04Shooting your shot

Flip the “Shoot your shot?” switch if you'd share Instagram handles. It stays private.

If you both flip it, you can each drop your IG. If not, you both see the same thing: “Good game. Run it back?” Nobody learns who said no.

05Keep it in the game

No phone numbers, handles, usernames, links, or socials in chat. The filter catches the creative spellings too.

No explicit content, threats, hate, or harassment. Flirty is fine. Gross is not.

Anyone who seems under 18 gets reported. Minors are never allowed.

Only drop your own IG. One account per handle. Using someone else's handle is an instant ban.

06Reporting

Use the menu in the chat or the Report button on the results screen. Reporting blocks that player right away and we review the saved chat. Breaking the rules gets you benched for good.
